East coast electro-indie project Foreign Air is an enigmatic duo with an ear for creating soundscapes that embrace the invisible necessities in life.
Foreign Air’s origins started in the early 2000s, with the guys playing in separate bands on the same night. Singer and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Clasen is based in North Carolina, while multi-instrumentalist Jacob Michael calls Washington, D.C. home. It all started with a voice note. “I remember sitting on my porch at my place after we got back from the airport,” remembers Clasen. “I had a very modest studio set up in my bedroom at the time. A drum set, a desk with some small speakers and instruments with a military cot. Jacob immediately threw down the bassline and we dropped a beat and pretty much wrote that song in a day”. The resulting, hypnotic hit single “Free Animal,” altered the trajectory of their career, landing them sync deals ranging from hit TV shows to Nike to Microsoft to romance film After We Fell. The band have also supported Phantogram, Bishop Briggs, Bleachers, and BORNS and performed at Lollapalooza Festival, Firefly Festival and SXSW.
